So this post title was one of the ones in my post challenge. I have thought a lot about what it means to Live Out Loud. My interpretation is to live without fear or judgement, with as few 'what-if's' as possible and to enjoy life. To laugh often and loud and to be happy with yourself and where you are in life.
I came across this quote and image on Pinterest a while back and it just kind of spoke to me. Both because of the art surrounding it, and the sentiment it promotes.
I really think that it applies to both your personal life, and the life of an artist. How many times as an artist have you caught yourself saying "I love that but I can't draw/paint/print/create like that?" How many hours have you spent planning works in your head that have yet to be realised?
It's time to realise that art is subjective. Every artist has their own style and technique, and while you may admire another for their abilities, chances are there is someone out there who is admiring yours.
So draw, paint, create.....make it yours and don't lament if you cannot seem to accomplish what you feel others have. What you see of what they have is merely a perspective, not the truth of their everyday reality. Take a step back and see what you have, what you can create and be your own unique artist. Learn from others, but do not try to make their style your own. Make your style your own.

Unknown author and artist - if someone stumbles across this and knows who created it, please let me know! |
